Day 1 Pakse - Tad Lo (L)
Departing Pakse from your hotel or the airport, you leave Pakse climbing in elevation as you ascend onto the Plateau. The area of Volcanic Rock makes for suburb tea and coffee plantations which thrive on the rich soil and the cooler climate. Visit tea and coffee plantations and learn about their processing before carrying on to Tad Fane Waterfall. Tad Fane waterfall sits at an elevation of 1100m and has two stunning cascades dropping 120m off the edge of the plateau. A further 2km from Tad Fane is Tad Yuang waterfall which makes for a pleasant walk through the coffee plantations to arrive there or alternatively it is a 10 minute drive along the main road. Tad Yuang makes a great spot for a picnic lunch and a swim. Continuing north along the Plateau drive past Paksong stop for the lunch After lunch we continue coffee tour starts, the coffee growing center from the Bolaven Plateau. The tour is highly informative and you'll see different aspects from coffee growing, harvesting and processing, on our way back we discuss the qualities from Arabica coffee around the world, after Coffee tour into Salavan Province to Tad Lo arriving late afternoon. Spend the rest of the day by the waterfall and at leisure enjoying the tranquillity of the area. Overnight at Tad Lo Lodge
Day 2 Tad Lo - Wat Phou Champasak (B/L)
Wake up to see the elephants bathing in the cool waterfall and after breakfast we check out from the lodge continue on your circuit of the plateau stopping at the village of Lao Ngam, home of the Katu people, here they have a strong tradition of silk weaving, and have many beautiful garments on display and for sale made by the local villagers. It's now time to head back to Pakse but not before seeing one last waterfall. Tad Paxuam a distinctive circular shaped waterfall flowing into a deep pool that is featured on many postcards of Laos. After lunch we continuing head out towards Champasak to visit the fascinating pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phou, one of Southeast Asia's most dramatically situated temples. Wat Phou is one of the Lao World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 2001, this wonderful archaeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 5th century, predating the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia, after visiting Wat Phou return to Champasak where you will spend the night. Day 3 Champasak - Don Khone (B/L)
After breakfast we cross over the Mekong crossing to Ban Muang for the transfer to Ban Hadxai Khoun from here we enjoy a boat ride through the 4000 Islands to the Island. Passing Don Som and Don Det passing the old French Ferry terminal to the Railway Bridge which you will cross to arrive at Don Khone, stop at Don Khone and spend the night in a bungalow overlooking the Mekong and the French Bridge. After check into the Bungalow we continue visit waterfall by bicycle or by tuk tuk and visit Liphi waterfall before heading to the southern tip of Don Khone known as Han Khone here you will take a boat to see the Irrawaddy dolphins. After dolphin return to Don Khone free at your leisure. Overnight at Seng Alhoune Bungalows overlooking the French Railway bridge
Day 4 Don Khone - Pakse (or onto Cambodia) (B/L)
After early breakfast at 7am we depart from Don Khone we cross to mainland Ban Nakasang, and we continue drive to the south the Mekong's largest waterfall, Khon Phapheng. This is part of the Mekong fault line which stretches across the entire Mekong River and has been formed by the river eroding the softer rock downstream. After waterfall return to Pakse
