Day 1 Pakse – Bolaven Plateau – Tad Lo (L)
You are picked up from your hotel or the airport to start a circuit of the Bolaven Plateau. As soon as you leave Pakse the road climbs in elevation as you ascend onto the Plateau. The area of Volcanic Rock makes for suburb tea and coffee plantations which thrive on the rich soil and the cooler climate. Visit tea and coffee plantations and learn about their processing before carrying on to Tad Fane Waterfall.A further 2km from Tad Fane which makes for a pleasant drive is Tad Yuang Waterfall which makes a great spot for a swim or a photo. Continuing north along the Plateau drive past Paksong and into Salavan Province, your next stop is the village of KokPung Thai here you can learn about this ethnic group and their tradition of building their coffins before they die. Continue north to Tad Lo arriving early afternoon. Spend the rest of the afternoon by the waterfall at your leisure. Today’s drive takes about 2 – 3 hours depending on time taken for stops and covers 90 km
Day 2 Tad Lo – Trekking – Pakse (B/L)
Spend the morning free to relax by the waterfall and watch the elephants being bathed, after breakfast we take a short walk along the stream to a Katu Ethnic Village where you can experience and see first-hand their culture and traditions. Returning to Pakseyour vehicle will be waiting for your return trip to Pakse. On the way stop at the village of Lao Ngam, home of the Katu people, here they have a strong tradition of silk weaving, and have many beautiful garments on display and for sale made by the local villagers. It's now time to head back to Pakse but not before seeing one last waterfall. Tad Paxuam is a distinctive circular shaped waterfall which flows into a deep pool that is featured on many postcards of Laos.Today’s drive takes about 2 – 3 hours depending on time taken for stops and covers 90 km. The trek takes about 2 hours return trip (~10 km)
